Communities are facing an ever-increasing number of strong weather events and the associated damage to public and private property and infrastructure can take a huge toll, both economically and socially. What is your community’s strategy to be more resilient during extreme weather events? How can you better plan for these events and what funding sources are available to assist with recovery or mitigation? Even better, how can your community be more proactive in implementing the right “fixes” to avoid major catastrophes? If you are an elected official, community development planner, economic development planner, or emergency response provider you should be here to learn about these topics so that resilience is built into your long-range strategy.
