Planning in the Fox Cities/Appleton Metropolitan Planning Area

All interested parties are invited to attend an open public meeting where you can provide comments directly to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regarding your views on the transportation planning process in the Fox Cities/Appleton Metropolitan Planning Area. Public comments are encouraged and may be submitted in writing or in person at the public meeting to be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at:

The FHWA and FTA are conducting a planning certification review of the metropolitan transportation planning process in the Fox Cities/Appleton Metropolitan Planning Area. This review is conducted every four years. Public comments received will be incorporated in the review and considered together with other FHWA and FTA oversight activities to determine if the transportation planning process meets applicable requirements of federal transportation law.

Under federal law, the East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (ECWRPC) serves as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Fox Cities/Appleton Metropolitan Planning Area. In coordination with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Valley Transit, and local units of government, the ECWRPC is responsible for conducting a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning program in accordance with provisions of federal transportation law.

Persons with special needs are asked to contact the ECWRPC office by phone at 920-751-4770 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting so that appropriate arrangements can be made to facilitate their participation.
