Community Input Needed for the College Avenue Corridor Study

East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (ECWRPC) along with local jurisdictions, Wisconsin Department of Transportation and other organizations are currently conducting a transportation corridor study on the County Highway CA/State Highway 125/College Avenue Corridor (as known as the College Avenue Corridor) from Appleton International Airport to State Highway 47/Memorial Drive, a 4.5 mile corridor. The purpose of the study is to evaluate transportation facilities which include roadways, intersections, transit facilities and routes, and bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, and develop recommendations for potential future improvements along the corridor.

“The College Avenue Corridor is a unique corridor that has both transportation challenges and opportunities. This corridor is the “Gateway to the Fox Cities” and is an opportunity to highlight our community for visitors coming to the Fox Cities,” stated Walt Raith, Assistant Director at ECWRPC.

ECWRPC is asking for community input from businesses, organizations, and community members about what they see as the transportation challenges and opportunities for improvements on the College Avenue corridor. For this corridor study we are looking for input on all forms of transportation including motor vehicle, bicycling, walking, and access to transit routes. Community members can go to the following interactive mapping website http://arcg.is/1iz8DQ6 and will be able to share their thoughts through points, lines and comments on the interactive map. The input received will guide recommendations and priorities for improving transportation access and facilities throughout the corridor. It is anticipated that the corridor study will be completed in early 2016.
