Draft 2018 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) 5-Year Update
ECWRPC is pleased to announce that our Draft 2018 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) 5-Year Update has been completed.
The Draft 2018 CEDS 5-Year Update contains updated demographic and economic data as well as updated regional economic development goals.
Preparation of this plan ensures that the East Central Region maintains Economic Development District (EDD) status through the federal Economic Development Administration (EDA), allowing community and regional projects, supporting the goals identified in the document, to apply for funding through a variety of EDA programs. In addition, the CEDS provides a framework for regional economic development by presenting a series of goals, objectives, and performance measures along with an analysis of socioeconomic trends, transportation access, regional geography and resources.
The Economic Development Standing Committee will meet and be requested to approve Proposed Resolution No. 25-18 on October 3, 2018. The full ECWRPC Commission will then be requested to approve Resolution No. 25-18 to adopt the Draft 2018 CEDS 5-Year Update on October 26, 2018.
