Fall Lake Michigan Stakeholders Membership Meeting

You’re invited to the fall 2015 LMS Membership meeting on Tuesday, October 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The meeting is being co-hosted by the Fox River Environmental Education Alliance (FREEA) and will be held at the FREEA facility located on the banks of the Fox River in Appleton, Wisconsin.

The focus of this event will be engaging youth in large-scale watershed management solutions.  The Fox-Wolf watershed is the largest contributing watershed to Lake Michigan in Wisconsin.  There are many unique characteristics in this watershed that require strong partnerships and community support to improve this important resource. We will feature speakers that focus on the challenges to improve water quality and steps taken to engage the next generation of water stewards.

Following lunch, we will have a tour to learn about the unique systems of locks along the lower Fox River as well as land- and water-based recreational initiatives that have successfully connected the community to the river.  Pre-registration is mandatory for catering purposes by September 30. Cost for the meeting is $20 (cash or check to LNRP), including lunch, and we will be sending out a registration form very shortly. Contact Sherrill Anderson to register at [email protected] or (920) 849-7053.
